Blog post 2

Cafe de France was a reproduction made by C. Veil in 2010. I find this painting beautiful because of it texture and clever use of diagonal lines. The texture seems thick and consistent. The tone of this painting is very quiet and peaceful, it also seems deserted. There is not much open space in this painting, but it seem like the placement of each item tells a story. This style of painting seems more traditional than contemporary.

Paris Love is another reproduction by C. Veil that was painted in 2007. The texture in this painting is very thin and it looks pencil-like. There is a lot of space in this painting, but there are still many items within the painting. The tone of this painting is very romantic and intimate. You can observe that this couple is in love. C. Veil has a style when making reproductions, and it seems like that style encompasses interesting brush strokes that convey emotion. The use of diagonal lines in this painting draws my eyes inward as well.
