This is a painting by Françoise Nielly in 2009. Neilly uses mostly palette knifes to complete his pieces of art works and turn his abstract strokes into elaborate, expressive figurative portraits. I love this painting mainly because of the way he uses bright neon and vibrant colors to show shadow, motion, and depth. I absolutely love the way he uses color to enhance and bring his paintings to life!
Painting I dislike:
This is a painting by Marten Jansen in 1997. I dislike this painting mainly because the way the artist chose to use colors and display the subject matter. Though there are a lot of different colors used throughout the painting, there isn't much depth and variations of color to determine how everything in the painting relate to one another. Also I don't like the way the entire composition is set up.
Marten Jansen. Portrait of Female Alien. 1997. acrylics on paper. 33 x 41 cm.
