Painting I dislike - Bather/Night, 2009, by Carroll Dunham. Acrylic on canvas.
I believe this painting is an abstract illustration of someone bathing in the night. The artist focuses on color, shape
and line. She uses black to outline many of the painting's objects to further emphasize the abstract and distorted
shapes she created.
Painting I like - The Future, 2013, by Zachary Cahill. Watercolor on paper.
I believe this painting's artist was trying to portray the dreamlike state one gets when being on top
of a mountain. His use of water with his paint helps him create a whimsical feel. He focuses on the
fluidity of the paint and uses color (red) to emphasize the figure on the edge of the mountain as the
focal point of the painting.
